The Great Pretenders have been entertaining audiences with their live performances featuring vintage rock n' roll, motown, surf, disco and classic rock since 1987. They provide music and entertainment that will have you singing along and is appropriate for audiences of all ages!
The Great Pretenders feature great music from chart toppers like The Temptations, Sam and Dave, The Beatles, Tommy James and the Shondels, The Beach Boys, The Righteous Brothers, Neil Diamond, Dion, The Hollies, The Moody Blues, Grand Funk Railroad, Elton John and KC and the Sunshine Band.

In 1982, a group of young musicians decided to revive some classic hits and formed a band which would later become the popular band in Youngstown.
This group would soon emerge as The Great Pretenders; a new band with even more energy, musical soul and state-of-the-art equipment, this new band would grow to amazing popularity. The Great Pretenders was no accident! From the first rehearsal, the members had one goal, to be the most popular band in North-Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
Specializing in Oldies and Classic Rock ‘n' Roll from the 50's 60's and 70's, The Great Pretenders know what Rock ‘n' Roll is all about. Their style restores the flavor of the original artist and adds a strong modern sound. Fans recognize The Great Pretenders for renditions of songs from Elvis Presley to The Bee Gees, The Beach Boys and The Moody Blues to The Rolling Stones and KC and the Sunshine Band.
Since the debut of the band, The Great Pretenders have backed up and opened up for many great artists. This list includes Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Drifters, The Marvelettes, Chubby Checker, The Coasters, Fabian, Bobby Rydell, The Diamonds, The Skyliners , Lou Christe and many more.
The four piece band carries with them their own sound and lighting technicians and maintains and operates its own sound production company providing the consistency that fans have come to expect to bring the party to the dance floor. The Great Pretenders have also appeared with a live brass section available for larger engagements.
Fans can see The Great Pretenders at a variety of events including concerts, stadiums, fairs, and night clubs. The band is available for your private and corporate events including country club events, fund raisers and club dances.
